"Chronicles Of Narnia"
Comes Out Of the Wardrobe with EDnet's Help
 |
With the splendid success of The Chronicles of Narnia last winter, the production team at Paravel Productions can finally rest. But in their frantic last months, Paravel Productions enlisted EDnet to provide them with a DolbyFax as their completion dates drew near. With time growing short, and hundreds of visual effects shots pouring in, director Andrew Adamson had to leave the ongoing ADR sessions in London to be at the elbow of editor Sim Evan-Jones. EDnet synchronized their AVID to the audio and time code from De Lane Lea in London, via DolbyFax, so director and editor never had to leave the editing room. Although this is not a rarity among animated productions, it still was very exciting for us here at EDnet to play a part in making Narnia such a success.

| Upon its release in theaters in December, 2005, it grossed over $500 million dollars within five weeks of its release, and was number one at the box office. With the holidays behind us, it's great that those numbers just keep going up. Jonas Thaler, head of post production on the film was kind enough to give us a hint about the future of the C.S. Lewis classic. There's definitely going to be a Narnia sequel in the future, he stated in a telephone interview in December. In fact, Walden Media has optioned the entire seven-part Chronicles of Narnia fantasy book series for film development.
You may not have a fantasy quite this large in production, but regardless of the size, all of us here at EDnet are ready to help make your fantasy a reality.
